Happy first day of spring! Despite the frigidness of yet another nor’easter hitting the north east, yes, spring has sprung. If you’re a makeup junkie like myself, your email has already been bombarded with companies pressuring you into all the trends of this upcoming spring/summer season. Well, today I am here to help you separate the must haves from the unnecessary brands for your spring vanity.
1. It’s good to be a NARSssist: Nars is my favorite brand. My first foundation was the Nars Sheer Glow foundation, I’m the shade Trinidad and although the foundation bottle is on the small side, it’s lasted me about three years now. I normally don’t wear foundation that often, but I said that to highlight the longevity of the product. A little goes a long way when it comes to any Nars foundation or tinted moisturizer. Currently, I’m using the Nars Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation and I use the Nars Velvet Matte Skin Tint. In the foundation I am the shade Belem and in the skin tint I wear Martinique. Both foundations mentioned last a long time, with or without a setting spray, but the Natural Radiant Longwear lasts up to 16 hours with no touch-ups needed. Aside from their amazing foundations and skin tints, the Nars blushes are also a top seller. Orgasm, the brand’s highly acclaimed blush line, knocks the ball out of the park every time. Their new Wanted Cheek Palette II complements brown-deep skin tones because of the mauve, rich peach and berry tones. Lastly, their new nude Velvet Lip Glides, oh my goodness, are perfect for any melanin pigmented sister.
2. The Anastasia of Beverly Hills: Anastasia Beverly Hills is another favorite of mine because I fell in love with her Brow Wiz and Brow Definer. Recently, the brand has introduced blushes to their product line along with a new illuminator with famous makeup influencer, Amra Olevic, that is perfect for your spring makeup catalogue. The blush tones for the blush trio and the blush kit are parallel to Nars blush color palette, with deep mauve and rich berry tones. An illuminator in the spring is great if you’re seeking a low maintenance look for the day because it brings a natural glow and vibrancy to your face.

3. BadGal Fenty: Queen Riri shocked the world when she expanded her empire to makeup and she did not disappoint with a single products. The foundation has a range to cater to all skin tones, the gloss makes lips sparkle, and the highlighter Trophy Wife suddenly makes you feel like that girl/boy. The Plush Matte Lipsticks have every spring color you will need to make all your spring outfits pop! Rihanna’s Stunna Lip Paint is not only packaged amazingly, but the payoff of the red lip is a definite head turner you’ll be looking for in the spring time.
