Rihanna and LVMH announced their new luxury brand, Fenty Maison, Friday after months of speculation.

Rihanna, born Robyn Rihanna Fenty, is the muse for Fenty. It was developed by the global pop superstar. Some of the luxury items will include ready to wear, shoes, bags, jewelry and accessories. She will also be involved in the commerciality and communication of the brand. Fenty will debut this Spring 2019 when Rihanna presents her first collection for the label May 22 in Paris.

“Designing a line like this with LVMH is an incredibly special moment for us. Mr. Arnault has given me a unique opportunity to develop a fashion house in the luxury sector, with no artistic limits. I couldn’t imagine a better partner both creatively and business-wise, and I’m ready for the world to see what we have built together,” Rihanna said in a statement.

The Paris based luxury Maison will make Rihanna, 31, the first woman of color to create an original brand at LVMH, first woman of color at the top of an LVMH and her line is the first created by the group since Christian Lacroix in 1987.

LVMH Chairman and Chief Executive Bernard Arnault shared his enthusiasm for his new business partner. He praised her leadership and unique appeal.

“Everybody knows Rihanna as a wonderful singer, but through our partnership at Fenty Beauty, I discovered a true entrepreneur, a real CEO and a terrific leader. She naturally finds her full place within LVMH. To support Rihanna to start up the Fenty Maison, we have built a talented and multicultural team supported by the Group resources. I am proud that LVMH is leading this venture and wish it will be a great success,” he said.
Rihanna is a 49.99 percent shareholder in Project Loud France, the official name of the company that owns the new label, via her company Denim UK Holdings. This new venture is another achievement for the singer who has sold millions of records worldwide.  Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty line was also launched in partnership with LVMH beauty incubator Kendo and has generated €500 million in its first full year in operation.
